50 Cent to promote ESPN 'Friday Night Fights' card in July

Rapper and promoter Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson will promote an ESPN Friday Night Fights card July 5 courtesy his SMS Promotions company at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, Conn. This marks the first solo promotional effort for Jackson, having only contributed on a collaborative basis with other promoters in previous events.

The event is set to be headlined by a light heavyweight tilt between Eleider Alvarez (12-0, 8 KOs), a member of the 2008 Olympic boxing team for Colombian who now calls Montreal home, and Allan Green (32-4, 22 KOs). Green, hailing from Tulsa, Okla.
