The July 13th Bernard Hopkins - Karo Murat fight, as well as the entire card, has been cancelled according to Max Boxing's Steve Kim on Twitter. Kim reported that the reason for the cancellation is that Murat has been experiencing visa problems. Not only has the card been called off but Showtime, the network that was to air Hopkins - Murat, will simply "go dark" on the date. In other words, no boxing of any kind will be shown that night on the network.
With the cancellation, the natural next question is where Hopkins will move on to from here. At 48 years old, he isn't allowed the luxury of waiting too long for something new to just come along. With no fight in July, he should now available as soon as the early autumn. Could a fight with Carl Froch or Adonis Stevenson be possibilities?
Where should Hopkins go from here?
