Malignaggi vs Broner weigh-in results: Fighters on weight for welterweight title clash

Paulie Malignaggi and Adrien Broner both made weight, and then talked some more trash ahead of tomorrow night's Showtime boxing main event.

Paulie Malignaggi and Adrien Broner got in some more verbal shots at today's weigh-in in Brooklyn, and also made weight for tomorrow night's WBA welterweight title fight, live on Showtime from the Barclays Center.

Malignaggi (32-4, 7 KO) weighed in at 146.4 to defend his title, with Broner (26-0, 22 KO) at 146.8. Showtime's Steve Farhood got thoughts from both fighters just after they stepped off the scales and had their staredown moment.

"He needs a burger. He looks hungry," Broner said, theorizing that Malignaggi had trouble making weight. "I'm gonna fuck him up, then I'm gonna take him to get something to eat later."

Malignaggi pointed out Broner's "nervous smile" repeatedly, saying he's "like a little kid."

"I'm the best fighter he's fought, amateur or pro," Malignaggi told Farhood. "I'm in the best shape of my career, I feel sharp. Whether there's bad blood or not, we go in there and perform. That's what being a professional is all about."

On the undercard, heavyweights Johnathon Banks and Seth Mitchell came in at 216.6 and 243.8 pounds, respectively. Banks told Farhood he expects to stop Mitchell again, while Mitchell promised that fans would see an improved fighter tomorrow night, as he tries to avenge his loss to Banks from November.

Sakio Bika and Marco Antonio Periban both weighed in at 167.2 pounds for their vacant WBC super middleweight title fight, which will open the Showtime broadcast at 9:00 pm EDT.
