Showtime debuts new @SHOStats Twitter to enhance viewer experience

Scott Christ is the managing editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2006.

Showtime Sports, in an effort to further enhance the interactive viewer experience for their boxing broadcasts, has started the new @SHOStats Twitter handle to "offer real time, relevant stats about the bouts airing live on our Showtime Championship Boxing series."

The venture will start tonight for the Malignaggi-Broner card, which airs beginning at 9:00 pm EDT on Showtime.

Among the features you'll see on this feed are live round-by-round punch stats (offered exclusively on this handle and SHO telecasts) as well as our expert analysts' unofficial scores after every round. Tonight, you'll see scores from Al Bernstein, Steve Farhood and special guest analyst Bernard Hopkins.

For those of you who watch and tweet, or watch and lurk on Twitter, or whatever, this sounds like it could be fun. Just a little extra analysis to beef up the fights, really, and since so many of us are on Twitter during these fights, it will add a little more to that experience, too.
