Tonight at 9:45 pm EDT, Bad Left Hook will have live results and round-by-round coverage for an HBO Boxing After Dark tripleheader from Foxwoods, with Gennady Golovkin defending the WBA middleweight title against Matthew Macklin in the main event.
Golovkin (26-0, 23 KO) is the heavy favorite, but it's no question that Macklin (29-4, 20 KO) represents on paper his stiffest opposition since turning pro. A legitimate middleweight and a solid contender, Macklin has held his ground against both Sergio Martinez and Felix Sturm in past bids for world titles. If there's something to expose with Golovkin, Macklin may be the man to do it.
In a battle of unbeaten super middleweights, Thomas Oosthuizen (21-0-1, 13 KO) will take on Brandon Gonzales (17-0, 10 KO) in a 10-round battle, and junior middleweights Willie Nelson (20-1-1, 12 KO) and Luciano Cuello (32-2, 16 KO) will open the broadcast in another 10-round bout.
