Marcos Maidana waiting for Adrien Broner's WBA title decision

Marcos Maidana is waiting for Adrien Broner to decide whether or not he'll make a WBA welterweight title defense against him later this year.

Welterweight contender Marcos Maidana isn't making his next move until Adrien Broner makes his, as Maidana is waiting for the newly-crowned WBA welterweight titleholder to decide whether or not he'll take a fight against Maidana, or vacate the title instead.

"We're still waiting for Broner. We haven't heard anything from him or his team. I think he has no choice to fight me because it's such an attractive fight. I doubt he could move back to 135-lbs. because I don't see great matchups for him in that division. Besides, it's hard for your body to move back two divisions. But let's wait," El Chino said to BoxingScene.com.

Maidana (34-3, 31 KO) is coming off of an impressive and exciting sixth-round stoppage of Josesito Lopez on June 8, which Broner (27-0, 22 KO) followed two weeks later by taking the WBA belt from Paulie Malignaggi in Brooklyn.

The fight has built up a little online buzz already among boxing fans, as it's certainly an intriguing style matchup, with the relentless, powerful Maidana up against the speed and skill of the young, star-pushed Broner. There's certainly danger on paper to Adrien, but it could also wind up a perfect opponent for him. We won't know for sure until they get in the ring, if they do.

Do you think Broner will take this fight, or will he look to move back down to 135 or 140?
