Friday, July 19
Direct TV (Argentina), 8:00 pm EDT, Martin Antonio Coggi vs Julian Alejandro Salas.
TV Publica (Argentina), 8:00 pm EDT, Billi Facundo Godoy vs Mateo Damian Veron, Juan Alberto Godoy vs Juan Jose Dias.
TyC Sports (Argentina), 8:00 pm EDT, Yesica Yolanda Bopp vs Anastasia Taktaulova.
ESPN2, 9:00 pm EDT, Olusegun Ajose vs Hank Lundy, Ryan Kielczewski vs Miguel Soto. Lundy is a favorite but not, like, you know, all that good, as he moves up to 140 here having lost his last two fights. That's not to say he doesn't have a shot at the win in this one. Ajose is pretty good but no world-beater. The co-feature is a matchup of unbeaten prospects that I admittedly know nothing about! BLH will have live coverage.
SHO, 10:00 pm EDT, Mickey Bey Jr vs John Molina, Badou Jack vs Farah Ennis. This was supposed to be the Ishe Smith-Carlos Molina bill, but it's a decent ShoBox anyway, more like a Friday Night Fights. Look, I keep saying this, "based on the ShoBox mission statement" stuff, but that is dead and gone now that there's a new regime. ShoBox is just Friday Night Fights now. Sometimes it will have the prospects against each other, sometimes it will have, like, Mickey Bey-John Molina. That's OK. So long as we see no more Jermain Taylor. BLH will have live coverage.
TV Azteca (Mexico), 11:30 pm EDT, Julian Yedras vs Carlos Buitrago.
Saturday, July 20
BoxNation (UK), 3:00 pm EDT, Dereck Chisora vs Malik Scott, Billy Joe Saunders vs Gary O'Sullivan, Carl Frampton vs Everth Briceno. The weekend's biggest card isn't really all that big, but it's solid. Chisora-Scott is an interesting fight, because I have absolutely no doubt that Malik Scott can box Chisora's ears off, but Dereck has nights when he's motivated where he's a solid wrecking ball type of fighter. I think the style matchup could actually be pretty entertaining here if Chisora doesn't fight bored or whatever it is that sometimes makes him dull. It's on him to make this a fight, and to win, he probably has to. BLH will have live coverage.
FOX Deportes, 9:00 pm EDT, Pedro Guevara vs Mario Rodriguez.
FOX Deportes, 11:00 pm EDT, Randy Caballero vs Miguel Robles, Frankie Gomez vs DeMarcus Corley. Really nice test for Gomez, as Corley, though he's inconsistent now, still has some skills and the tools to test young fighters. Caballero's fight is the main event because he's the hometown fighter.
