Carl Frampton was due to make his debut for Frank Warren on Saturday's BoxNation bill from Wembley Arena, but is out of his scheduled fight with Everth Briceno after suffering an ear injury in training.
From Frampton's Twitter account:
I'm upset to have to announce that I have been ruled out of my fight on Saturday by the BBBoC. An old ear injury mildly reoccured in a spar. A specialist initially informed me I was fit to box. Today the BBBoC ruled me out. Im so so sorry especially to the people who were coming to support me. It's been an amazing camp and I'm gutted that I won't be able to showcase my improvements in Wembley.
Frampton (16-0, 11 KO) jumped to Warren from Matchroom Boxing in late May, after his career had started to take off with Eddie Hearn. It was a bold move and a big signing for Warren, who had been consistently losing fighters to Matchroom, as they sought exposure on Sky Sports.
No new date for Frampton has been scheduled, but Warren does have dates on August 17 (Cleverly-Kovalev) and September 21 (Saunders-Ryder) on tap.
