It didn't take more than a few hours for Marcos Maidana to get wind of Adrien Broner's latest verbal tirade, which was directed toward Maidana (and to a lesser extent, Lucas Matthysse), as Broner said that anyone who thinks Maidana can beat him is a "damn fool," and that after he was done with that fight, he'd take out Matthysse.
Maidana (34-3, 31 KO) is not one for poetic statements, nor does he care for the shocking or titillating trash talk that often rules the day and steals headlines in boxing's rather perverse little world. Instead, he kept it simple:
Well, that's about all he needed to say, I guess. It's certainly no secret that Maidana definitely wants to fight Broner (27-0, 22 KO) for "The Problem's" WBA welterweight title, and a lot of fans have talked up that potential matchup, too. It seems a dangerous style clash for both men, and with Broner struggling with Paulie Malignaggi, there is some belief that he's not yet ready for a puncher like Maidana at 147 pounds.
Maybe we'll actually find out, if they both just shut up and fight.
