Chavez vs Vera rescheduled for September 28 in Carson, Calif.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr will still face Bryan Vera, with the fight pushed back three weeks and relocated to Carson, California.

Just a couple of days after calling off his September 7 fight against Bryan Vera, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr has been rescheduled for the same opponent at a new venue on September 28, when Chavez and Vera will fight at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Top Rank is offering refunds for those who had tickets for the September 7 event at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, but those tickets will also be honored on September 28. The vacant WBO junior middleweight title fight between Demetrius Andrade and Vanes Martirosyan has also been rescheduled for that night, and will be televised by HBO.

The HBO broadcast will be a split site tripleheader now, it would appear, with Chavez-Vera and Andrade-Martirosyan from Carson, plus Adonis Stevenson vs Tavoris Cloud live from Montreal for Stevenson's WBC light heavyweight title. So we'll have two world title fights, plus the return of Chavez Jr, which is going to be the real TV draw for most folks.
