Demetrius Andrade and Vanes Martirosyan will not be meeting on September 28 after all.

Banner Promotions issued a retraction from their press release earlier today, which stated that the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr vs Bryan Vera and Demetrius Andrade vs Vanes Martirosyan fights had both been rescheduled for September 28, from their original September 7 date.

Chavez-Vera will take place on September 28, but Andrade-Martirosyan will not. Banner says that details about the rescheduling of that fight will be announced shortly.

Andrade (19-0, 13 KO) and Martirosyan (33-0-1, 21 KO) are both gunning for their first world title as they'll be meeting for the vacant WBO junior middleweight belt, which was stripped from Zaurbek Baysangurov after he pulled out of a scheduled mandatory defense earlier this year.

There is some talk of the Andrade-Martirosyan being placed on the Nonito Donaire and Mikey Garcia doubleheader on November 9, which is also an HBO card, though it may not get televised then, either. HBO had to be convinced to air this fight in the first place, and the cancellation may be enough to get it booted.
