For the time being, we can stick a big, rusty fork in the idea of a Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao fight, as for I think the first time ever, Mayweather has said point-blank that he has no intention of ever fighting Manny, who he says had his chance and blew it.
"(Pacquiao) had a chance to make the fight in the past, and basically, that's the best place I'd like to leave it. ... He's not going to get a chance to fight me. I was feeling that way weeks ago [that he'd fight Pacquiao only if Manny signed with Mayweather Promotions]. Now, I'm feeling like I wouldn't even give him a chance. He had a chance, he blew it, so that's what it is."
Mayweather (44-0, 26 KO) could of course reconsider at some point, but I mean, it's been years now. Nearly half a decade. The whole thing is a tired topic that everyone is sick of talking about, except for casual fans and some of the media, which is the key: if the yokels will buy it, then there's always a chance it can happen. Not a good chance, or even a truly "possible" chance, but some chance. Some minuscule chance. Now, for the moment, not so much.
THIS HAS BEEN YOUR UNNEEDED MAYWEATHER-PACQUIAO UPDATE FOR TODAY
