If you missed last night's premiere of All Access: Mayweather-Canelo on Showtime, hey, you've come to the right place, as you can watch the full episode courtesy Showtime Sports right here on Bad Left Hook.
With the September 14 fight just three weeks away now, the hype is really hitting its stride. This is no doubt the biggest fight we've seen in many years, and it's a key moment for the Showtime boxing brand, as well. If they fall short of projections on this fight, that could indicate that even though pay-per-view is pay-per-view, and all the same people can still buy it, there may be something that the HBO brand name carries in the boxing world that Showtime just doesn't yet.
But that seems unlikely. There's an enormous buzz around Mayweather-Canelo, and I thought this first episode of All Access was excellent, with Barry Pepper doing a great job as the narrator, nice pacing throughout the show, and though the plotlines and all that were of course guided, it felt like they let the fighters tell their own stories to a large degree, which is important. Floyd was Floyd, but we got to see more of Canelo than we've had a chance to in the past. He's a dorky (in a good way), loose, laid back kid, and there's no trepidation in the way he's carrying himself.
