Mayweather vs Canelo All Access: Episode 2 preview

The Mayweather camp is confident that the weight won't matter on September 14, and that in fact Canelo Alvarez's management team put him at a disadvantage with the suggestion of a catchweight.

Floyd Mayweather

"The fight is at 152, but it's really not the weight. It's about the skills. And I feel that, you know, I'm a skillful fighter. When it's all said and done, skills pays the bills."

Leonard Ellerbe

"His management put out something on BoxingScene that they would be willing to fight at a catchweight. Now because his management is inept, we take advantage of those kind of things. Why would we go in a different direction? They suggested it, why would we say no and do something different? They put him at a disadvantage. His management did. It wasn't that Floyd Mayweather asked for a catchweight, because absolutely, that did not happen. So I wanna be clear on the record for that. Floyd would have fought him regardless, but his management put that out there. So if you have an idiot manager, that's what it is."

"Canelo, he's an excellent young fighter. He's in over his head. He's in over his head. Come September 14, Canelo got a problem.

All Access: Mayweather-Canelo airs its second episode on Saturday, August 31 at 10:00 pm EDT.
