Pacquiao vs Rios: Manny says Ariza has been fired, Rios won't work with Memo Heredia

Manny Pacquiao has revealed that trainer Freddie Roach has fired strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza in an ESPN Sports Nation chat, saying that he will begin training camp three months out from the fight (so in late August), and that he won't be working with Ariza. Here's the exact quote:

In similar news, Brandon Rios says that he won't be working with Memo Heredia for the fight:

So this will be a real old-timey fight without "gurus" present to make interesting milkshakes and hand out protein bars and lead stretching exercises and sprint drills and the like, just two fighter-men training to be fighter-men, likely chasing chickens around and drinking raw eggs, hammering away on battered, old heavy bags in a musty old gym, romantically giving people who think fedoras are cool hard-ons, really selling the mysticism of The Sweet Science. Oh, man, you guys. So incredible. So ... "the forties."
