Today at 5:00 pm EDT, Bad Left Hook will have live streaming video of the Grand Arrivals in Las Vegas for this weekend's Showtime pay-per-view fighters, including Floyd Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez hitting the strip as they prepare for their huge showdown.
Mayweather (44-0, 26 KO) has been through this many times now, but this is a new level for Alvarez (42-0-1, 30 KO), who has done the whole "grand arrivals" bit before, but not quite like this. Now the focus is all on him and his opponent, who happens to be the best boxer in the world and the first man he's faced who is also a bigger star than he is.
Also hitting the red carpet will be Danny Garcia, Lucas Matthysse, Ishe Smith, Carlos Molina, Ashley Theophane, and Pablo Cesar Cano, along with various and sundry promoters, managers, and whatever else. I hope Al Bernstein gets to walk it. Al Bernstein doing semi-fancy things amuses me. He's just such a Chicago Guy.
