Canelo Alvarez: 'I've been part of big events, but this is different'

Canelo Alvarez speaks briefly with BoxNation about Saturday's fight against Floyd Mayweather.

Scott Christ is the managing editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2006.

While Showtime pay-per-view is the fight home in the United States for Mayweather-Canelo, in the United Kingdom, subscriber all-boxing network BoxNation is the place to see the bout. The network was on hand Wednesday at the final press conference to speak briefly with the fighters.

"Do you have a message to your British fans? They're growing in numbers all the time. What can they expect this weekend?"

Canelo Alvarez

"First of all, I wanna say thank you, I'm very gracious for all the support I've received out there. Tell them I'm going to win on Saturday."

"Have you had a build-up as mad as this, with the press tour and the excitement that's going on in Las Vegas this week?"

Canelo Alvarez

"I've had big events before. I've been part of big events before. But this is different. It's bigger. I'm just enjoying every moment. Savoring it."

"Has Floyd Mayweather underestimated you?"

Canelo Alvarez

"Yes, I think so. On Saturday, he'll see what's gonna happen."
