Floyd Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez packed the house this afternoon at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas for their weigh-in, matching the intensity and scope of most of boxing's biggest fights just to undress and get on the scales.
Mayweather weighed in at 150½ pounds, with Alvarez coming in at the fight limit of 152 pounds. The two had their stare down, which Canelo smiled through as Mayweather jabbered in his face, then Alvarez refused to hold the special "all gold" WBC belt they'll be fighting for, with Mayweather attempting to get him to do so.
For the main undercard bout, Danny Garcia weighed in initially at 140½, a half-pound over the limit, but was able to drop down to 140 moments later, when they moved the scale a bit and moved some people away. Lucas Matthysse was at 140 even, with both fighters looking in good shape.
Stay with us as we'll have more tonight on the fight.
