Today at 6:00 pm EDT on Top Rank TV, you can stream the weigh-in event for tomorrow night's HBO fight between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and Bryan Vera, which has been moved from June to August to September 7 to September 28, and from 165 to 168 to 173 pounds.
[ Preview: No guarantees for Chavez against Vera ]
Chavez (46-1-1, 32 KO) is fighting for the first time in 54 weeks, following his first career loss to Sergio Martinez, the resulting drug test suspension from Nevada, and some time off to prepare and get ready and, it seems, eat. He's also parted ways with trainer Freddie Roach, and the sort of arrogance coming from his camp about the weight limit for this fight has been obnoxious even for Team Chavez.
Vera (23-6, 14 KO) will look to score a career-biggest upset win tomorrow night, but it needs to be said that he's going to be really undersized in terms of body mass. Vera's a 160-pound fighter who can stretch to 168, but 173 seems really big for him, not to mention whatever Chavez rehydrates to. 190? 195?
We'll have the results of the weigh-in right after the event is over, and if you want immediate weights and all that for the card -- which we will cover in full including the entire off-TV undercard tomorrow starting at 6:30 pm EDT -- follow me on Twitter @scottchristBLH.
