The only thing I want to say about last week is this: there were a LOT of great knockouts. And guess what? You can find them all online (if not, tweet me). Lucky you. The previous results column is can be found here.

2013-09-17 Thirteen Coins Resort, Phraram 9, Bangkok, Thailand
Thai TV 3
Teerachai Kratingdaenggym TKO1 Randy Suico
Super PABA welterweight title
Eaktawan Mor Krungthepthonburi TKO2 Chamorkpet Kor Kamonwat
This KOTY candidate appears to be the pro boxing debut of Aiktawan Mor Krungthepthonburi, also a Muay Thai fighter. Thanks to James Goyder and Rian Scalia for translations.
Stamp Kiatiniwat W6 Pompet Gilasport
This one was a war.

Final: Fabrice Aurieng TKO2 Ionut Patriche
Aurieng became the Bigger's Better 24 champion after a battered Patriche injured his arm while throwing an overhand left. Aurieng also won BB 14 the previous year.
Semi-Final 2: Ionut Patriche TKO2 Mario Jagatic
Semi-Final 1: Fabrice Aurieng TKO2 Borislav Vujanovic
Quarter-Final 4: Mario Jagatic SD3 Bjorn Blaschke
Quarter-Final 3: Ionut Patriche TKO2 Edmond Paltatzis

Tabtimdaeng Na Rachawat UD12 Alvin Bais (115-113?, 115-113?, 116-113?)
PABA bantamweight title
Yodsingdaeng Jor Chaijinda TKO4 Tarek Krab
---------------------------
2013-09-20 Kissimmee Civic Center, Kissimmee, Florida, USA
Telemundo
Wilfredo Vazquez Jr UD12 Guillermo Avila (116-112, 116-112, 116-112)
In a closer fight than the scorecards suggested Vazquez Jr was arguably robbed of a 12th round knockdown but emerged victorious nonetheless. He picked up the vacant WBO International super bantamweight title.
Israel Vazquez UD6 Felipe Rivas
WV2's little bro improved to 9-0-2.

2013-09-21 Club Sportivo America, Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina
TyC
Victoria Noelia Bustos UD10 Ana Laura Esteche (97-93, 96-94, 97-93)
Argentina (FAB) female lightweight title
Alejandro Marcelo Ramirez MD6 Carlos Alberto Carmona
Ruben Dario Lopez UD4 Alexis Alejandro Leon
Leonela Paola Yudica Andino UD4 Alejandra Maria de Lujan Rios
Lucas Fernandez KO1 Daniel Horacio Reynoso
Roque Juncos MD4 Federico Jose Salcedo
---------------------------
2013-09-21 Oasis Hotel Complex, Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico
Fox Deportes (USA) / Televisa (Mexico)
Robinson Castellanos KO6 Derrick Wilson
WBC Silver featherweight title
Fernando Carcamo TKO2 Vicente Escobedo
Poor Vicente. He just can't catch a break.
Junior Granados MD8 Humberto Morales
Juan Carlos Dominguez TKO2 Fernando Aqua
---------------------------
2013-09-21 Gimnasio Municipal Luis Estrada Medina, Guasave, Sinaloa, Mexico
Cadena Tres
Edgar Puerta SD10 Guadalupe Rosales
No scorecards were announced for this card but Puerta narrowly kept himself a player in the super featherweight division (which is pretty deep in Mexico).
Mario Rodriguez SD10 Odilon Zaleta
Rodriguez will re-enter the BLH Rankings after winning this WBC light flyweight title eliminator. Coming off back to back losses this was a much needed win, and Rodriguez acted accordingly. I'd tell you if the 5th round knockdown Rodriguez scored was the difference in the fight, but, once again, no scorecards were announced...
Abdiel Ramirez TKO2 Jose Angel Apodaca
Edgar Jimenez TKO2 Juan Jimenez
Aaron Dominguez TKO1 Arturo Lopez Castro
---------------------------
2013-09-21 Crowne Plaza, Managua, Nicaragua
Azteca 7 (Mexico) / Azteca America (USA) / BoxeoProdesa (YouTube) / Channel 4 (Nicaragua)
Roman Gonzalez TKO7 Francisco Rodriguez Jr
This was shaping up to be a great fight but it was shamefully stopped early. Rodriguez Jr was in trouble but not seriously hurt. Also, the round before Rodriguez lost a point for holding his jab out to keep to keep Gonzalez at range. It's not that the ref wasn't within his rights, but nearly every great heavyweight champion throughout history above 6 feet tall did the same thing on a regular basis... In any event Chocolatito remains unbeaten with 36 wins to his name.
Juan Carlos Sanchez Jr TKO7 Darwin Zamora
In the Azteca America main event (because it didn't televise the Roman Gonzalez fight) Sanchez Jr dominated Zamora up until his corner threw in the towel. Sanchez Jr should move on to a super flyweight eliminator against Zolani Tete (probably in November according to Dan Rafael).
Eusebio Osejo UD8 Orlando Rizo
David Morales TKO5 Eliecer Lanzas
Jairo Rodriguez TKO2 Frederick Castro
Had the referee not caught Castro on the way down, this would have been a KOTY candidate. Quite frankly it might be anyways.
Hermogenes Castillo KO4 Wilmer Blas
Erick Lopez KO1 Pablo Osuna
Cristofer Rosales TKO3 Ruiz
Now this one was definitely a KOTY candidate.

2013-09-21 Sportpalace Lokomotiv, Kharkov, Ukraine
IHTEP
Max Bursak UD12 Nick Blackwell (114-112?, 115-112?, 115-112?)
Bursak dominated the first half of round 4 but was dropped and took a terrible beating for the remainder of the round. Fortunately for Bursak, he was able to turn things around in subsequent rounds and ultimately won the WBA Continental middleweight title. Overall this was a solid main event, filled with vicious exchanges from start to finish. Bursak wound up the more marked up of the two and the fight could have gone either way.
Vladimir Tereshkin TKO2 Laszlo Toth
Vyacheslav Uzelkov KO1 Attila Palko
Palko was CLEARLY knocked out on the break. Eric Hunter would have LOVED to have had this referee the week before.
Umar Salamov KO2 Dmitry Adamovich
Mishiko Beselia TKO2 Dmytro Bohachuk
---------------------------
2013-09-21 Copper Box Arena, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Hackney Wick, London, United Kingdom
BoxNation (UK) / TV 2 (Russia)
Billy Joe Saunders UD12 John Ryder (115-114, 115-113, 115-113)
BBBofC British & Commonwealth middleweight titles
Frank Buglioni TKO2 Bronislav Kubin
George Kean PTS4 Rick Boulter (40-35)
Dereck Chisora TKO5 Edmund Gerber
Chisora furthered his claim to being a top 10 heavyweight and picked up the vacant EBU (European) title. He's now eyeing a rematch with Tyson Fury, who may/may not be facing David Haye in February next year. If this rematch does happen, Chisora will probably show up in shape this time...
Frankie Gavin UD12 David Barnes (118-111, 117-112, 118-112)
Despite the scorecards Barnes could have won this fight if all the rounds where nothing happened were awarded to him. In any event Gavin retained the BBBofC British & Commonwealth welterweight titles. Thus he's still unbeaten and a supposedly a star in the making, even though his division tends to always be pretty solid...
Dmitry Chudinov PTS8 Max Maxwell (79-73)
Paul Butler UD12 Miguel Gonzalez (117-112, 120-108, 119-110)
Vacant WBO Inter-Continental super flyweight title
Liam Walsh MD12 Joe Murray (114-114, 116-112, 116-113)
Commonwealth (British Empire) & vacant WBO International super featherweight titles
Mitchell Smith PTS10 Scott Moises (96-95)
Vacant BBBofC Southern Area super featherweight title
---------------------------
2013-09-21 Olympia, Liverpool, Merseyside, United Kingdom
Sky Sports
Derry Mathews TKO4 Curtis Woodhouse
Commonwealth (British Empire) lightweight title
Liam Smith UD12 Erick Ochieng (117-112, 117-112, 116-113)
Vacant BBBofC British light middleweight title
Rocky Fielding TKO1 Mohammed Akrong
Vacant Commonwealth (British Empire) super middleweight title
Callum Smith TKO1 Patrick Mendy
I have to say this was rather impressive. Mendy has fought some pretty good guys and although he never officially beat any of them, none could stop him. Yet, Smith took him out in 1 and captured the vacant BBBofC English super middleweight title. Mendy just couldn't get out of the way of the straight right hand. Smith improved to 8-0, 6 KOs.
Robbie Davies Jr TKO1 Josh Thorne
Ryan Aston D6 Tyan Booth (57-57)
---------------------------
2013-09-21 Celebrity Theater, Phoenix, Arizona, USA
ironboypromotions.com
Alexis Santiago TKO9 Alex Rangel
Vacant WBC United States (USNBC) bantamweight title
Jose Marrufo MD6 Cameron Krael (57-57, 59-55, 59-55)
Joey Ruelas UD4 Siju Shabazz (39-37, 39-37, 39-37)
Francisco De Vaca TKO1 Manuel Galaviz
Luis Olivares TKO1 Alex Gutierrez
Carlos Castro TKO1 Miguelito Marti
Abel Ramos UD4 Carlos Villa (40-35, 39-36, 40-35)
Edgar Brito D4 Alan Garcia (39-37, 37-39, 38-38)
---------------------------
2013-09-21 Convention Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
Twelve.TV
Caleb Truax TKO4 Cerresso Fort
I'll say this: the referee certainly didn't stop this fight early. Fort danced on no legs like his name was Amir Khan. Truax defended his USA Minnesota State middleweight title and picked up the vacant USBA title. Expect to see him pop up in the IBF top 15 soon.
---------------------------
2013-09-21 Resorts World Casino, Queens, New York, USA
Rafael Vazquez TKO9 Leon Moore
This was a pretty great KO but it was outshined by how badly commentator Marc Abrams lost his shit when it happened. Ironically Moore had Vazquez ready to go the round before. Vazquez won the vacant WBA Fedelatin super bantamweight title.
Frank Galarza TKO4 Rich Neves
Vacant USA New York State light middleweight title
Bryant Cruz UD6 Jesus Bayron
Angel Garcia UD4 Nuwan Jayakody
Jay Rodriguez TKO2 Eric George
Marc Abrams: "George. Is. ... Stopped?" I felt the same way. Referee Shada Murdaugh must have thought he was in the UK.
Villi Bello UD4 Anthony Birmingham
Allan Phelan TKO2 Benjamin Burgos
This stoppage was pretty quick too, but at least understandable. Referee Samuel Viruet probably should have administered a count instead of immediately waving it off. Burgos protested in disbelief.
Ytalo Perea UD4 Evan Nedd

If a bout is not mentioned which took place on one of the above cards it’s most likely because I haven’t got around to watching it yet. In the event that I do watch such a bout at a later time it’s still unlikely I will update this results column. My columns will be posted once a week, devoted to cards that most casual American boxing fans haven’t seen or heard of. For available footage of the previously reported bouts follow @sweetboxing on twitter. You may also email the author of this piece at rgbivins@gmail.com.
