Wednesday, September 11
TBS (Japan), 8:00 am EDT, Kazuto Ioka vs Kwanthai Sithmorseng, Ryo Miyazaki vs Jesus Silvestre. These are a pair of WBA title fights in divisions too small to be seen on American television. Miyazaki-Silvestre matches top 10 ranked BLH fighters and should be good. Kwanthai is pretty solid too, but despite having 4x the fights of Ioka his resume is only 1/4th as strong.
LIVE STREAM at badlefthook.com / CBS Sports Network, 4:00 pm EDT, Press Conference: Mayweather vs Canelo.
SHO, 8:30 pm EDT, All Access: Mayweather-Canelo (episode four).
Thursday, September 12
FOX Sports 3 (AUS), 6:00 am EDT, Czar Amonsot vs Steven Wills, Jeff Horn vs Samuel Colomban, Qamil Balla vs Jack Brubaker. You may recall Amonsot from his bloody war with Michael Katsidis back in 2007. Despite the fact that he probably should have hung up his gloves after that (which he did for a bit), he's still fighting, and he's winning fights. The really interesting fight here is 2012 Aussie Olympian Horn (3-0-1, 3 KO) taking on veteran Colomban (21-5, 10 KO) in a quick step up. Horn's draw was a technical draw last time out after a cut.
LIVE STREAM at badlefthook.com / CBS Sports Network, 4:00 pm EDT, Press Conference: Garcia vs Matthysse, Smith vs Molina, Theophane vs Cano.
FOX Sports 2, 10 pm EDT, Shawn Porter vs Julio Diaz II, Badou Jack vs Marco Antonio Periban, Hugo Centeno Jr vs Julian Williams. With the rematch between Porter and Diaz being for the vacant USBA welterweight title you can expect an IBF world title shot for the winner in the not-too-distant-future. Now they just need to avoid drawing (again). Jack-Periban is interesting because the winner is a legit top 10 super middleweight and, with the help of the NABF title, can expect a WBC world title shot soon. Periban is actually coming off a narrow majority decision loss to Sakio Bika for said world title. And finally there's Centeno Jr vs Williams, matching two young junior middleweight prospects that just might be the future of the division. Given the lack of depth at junior middleweight, the winner can probably already be considered a true contender.
