According to a report at BoxingScene.com, Keith Thurman will return to the ring on either April 19 or April 26, in either Los Angeles (the 26th), or San Diego San Antonio my bad, baby, my bad (the 19th).
One of those dates will host the Maidana-Broner rematch, and Thurman (22-0, 20 KO) could feature on their undercard as he did on December 14, when he beat Jesus Soto Karass. The 25-year-old Thurman scored wins over Jan Zaveck on HBO, then Diego Chaves and Soto Karass on Showtime, and is being smartly positioned as a potential breakout star in 2014.
If Golden Boy and Al Haymon are looking to make him a headliner soon, it wouldn't be any surprise to see him take a main event slot on one of those dates. A fight with Shawn Porter, who won the IBF welterweight title on December 14 from Devon Alexander, is picking up some chatter steam among Die Hard Boxing Heads and people who watch Showtime fights regularly.
Who would you like to see Thurman face in April?
