Curtis Stevens had no hangover effect from his November TKO loss to Gennady Golovkin, as the heavy-handed middleweight contender made quick work of club fighter Patrick Majewski tonight in Atlantic City on NBC Sports Fight Night.
Stevens (26-4, 19 KO) put Majewski (21-3, 13 KO) down immediately on a simple left jab, at which point it was pretty much over. Majewski got to his feet but was put down again not long after, and the stoppage came on a third knockdown. Majewski really did nothing in this fight, and it was target practice for Stevens. The official time of the fight was 46 seconds.
Stevens, 28, made his case for another decent fight, and he wouldn't be a bad opponent for fellow New Yorker Peter Quillin, given the choices for Quillin opponents.
In the co-feature, cruiserweight Thabiso Mchunu improved to 15-1 (10 KO) with a decision win over Nigeria's Olanrewaju Durodola (17-2, 16 KO). Scores were 96-93, 97-92, and 98-91.
