Junior welterweight propsect Antonio Orozco got his bell rung in round one by veteran Miguel Angel Huerta on tonight's edition of Golden Boy Live! on FOX Sports 1, but turned the tables in round two with a vicious left hook that put Huerta face-down on the canvas. The fight was stopped not long after.
Orozco (19-0, 15 KO) is an exciting prospect at age 26, but appears to have defensive flaws that could give him major issues going forward. Huerta (27-12-1, 18 KO) showed up to fight, which was good to see, but he was just overpowered by a younger, fresher guy.
Orozco's ceiling might be "all-action guy," but there are worse ceilings.
In the co-feature, heavyweight Dominic Breazeale stayed perfect, improving to 9-0 (9 KO) with a stoppage of a very fat man named Homer. Homer was listed officially at 5'9", 298, but before we focus too much on the comedy of this fight, let's give Homer his due: he came out there against a superior, better-schooled athlete and he threw some bombs in round one. That was about all he had in the tank, but at least he tried. The fight was stopped after three rounds when Fonseca's corner told him he had nothing left, an indication they expected he started with something.
