Showtime's had a tough final quarter of 2014, but they're still working on some fight cards, and one of them would feature an intriguing junior middleweight title fight between a couple of quality young fighters on December 13. If the fight does happen -- and it appears it's going to -- Demetrius Andrade would defend the WBO title against Jermell Charlo.
HBO has a card that night (headlined by Tim Bradley vs Diego Chaves), but I think it can be forgiven to get a night of head-to-head between the networks, since to be totally fair to both sides, they've done a good job of avoiding that in 2014, and dates are running out. That will likely be the final fight night for either network in 2014, since it's two weeks before Christmas, and it's right around the traditional final weekend of premium U.S. boxing.
Andrade (21-0, 14 KO) beat Vanes Martirosyan for the vacant belt last year, and annihilated Brian Rose in his first defense this past June. Charlo (24-0, 11 KO) has beaten Gabriel Rosado and Charlie Ohta this year on Showtime.
