13th Round: Scott and Connor review Golovkin vs Rubio and Donaire vs Walters

Scott Christ and Connor Ruebusch of Bad Left Hook review HBO's scintillating night of fights which culminated in a predictable but still utterly enjoyable knockout win for Kazakh killer Gennady "GGG" Golovkin.

Join us in discussing a thoroughly enjoyable evening of fights. That's right, HBO made it's long-awaited return to boxing with a phenomenal two-fight showcase last night, October 18th. The competitiveness of the main event matchup between Gennady Golovkin and Marco Antonio Rubio left a little to be desired, but then it's hard to be disappointed with a Golovkin fight, and the hard-hitting Kazakh turned in yet another early KO, stopping the outmatched Rubio in round 2.

Before that Nonito Donaire made his return to the ring at his highest weight yet, battling Jamaican boxer-puncher Nicholas Walters for some kind of featherweight belt, apparently. The fight delivered in every way, with Donaire proving that he's still a dangerous fighter, even at 126 lbs, and Walters proving that he is a star on the rise. Walters knocked Donaire out with a tremendous overhand right in round 5.
