Fight card planned to honor Dan Goossen

Craig Goossen is putting on a card November 20th in LA to honor his late father.

Alexis Cuarezma - Goossen Tutor

Dan Goossen was a "Valley guy" who began promoting cards years ago at the Reseda Country Club. Though his career peaked with big shows at the Staples Center just a few miles south, Goossen continued to promote smaller cards near his "home base" in the San Fernando Valley.

Craig Goossen, Dan's son, will carry on the tradition of his father (who passed from cancer last month) with another "Live at the Lodge" boxing card at the Sportmen's Lodge in Studio City, Ca, on November 20th. The card will feature junior welterweight Lydell Rhodes and undefeated super middleweight Shawn Estrada, as well as Wale Omotoso and middleweight Wilky Camfort, in separate bouts. Opponents are all TBA.

"My Dad was the ultimate San Fernando Valley guy," said Craig Goossen, Dan’s son. "The continuation of this series is the perfect way to honor his devotion to the sport and passion for the Valley."

The Sportmen's Lodge is right down the street from this blogger's home, and I'm planning on attending. Any other SoCal BLH readers want to join me?
