This Saturday at the O2 Arena in Hamburg, Germany, Wladimir Klitschko will defend the WBA, WBO, and IBF world heavyweight titles against Kubrat Pulev. Guess who's in town?
If or when Klitschko beats Pulev on Saturday, it's probably a safe bet that Shannon Briggs will make his presence known, either immediately after the fight in the ring, or during the post-fight press conference. At this point, it seems all but a given that Wladimir, should he win, will face Briggs next sometime in early 2015. There's been a lot of time dedicated to this, and there's probably as much money and credibility in this lousy idea than in any other fight Wladimir could get next.
Of course, Wlad does have to beat Pulev first, and that's no gimme.
