Bad Left Hook will be here tonight with live results and discussion for the latest edition of Golden Boy Live! which will feature featherweight prospect Joseph Diaz Jr in the main event, and showcase bouts for a few others, too.
Diaz (12-0, 8 KO) was a 2012 U.S. Olympian and despite an early loss, showed real promise that he's thus far delivering on as a professional. The 21-year-old from California will face Roberto Castaneda (21-7-1, 15 KO) tonight in a 10-round fight. Castaneda, 23, has lost six of his last seven, including defeats against Gary Russell Jr, Jessie Magdaleno, Daniel Rosas, Roman Moralez, Jose "Wonder Boy" Lopez, and Christopher Martin.
Julian Ramirez (12-0, 7 KO) is another 21-year-old featherweight prospect, and he'll be facing Pedro Melo (9-6-2, 2 KO) in an eight-round fight. Ramirez is a southpaw from Los Angeles. Melo's most notable fight is a 2010 loss to Julio Ceja.
Super bantamweight prospect Diego De La Hoya (7-0, 5 KO) will also be back in the ring tonight. The 20-year-old De La Hoya, nephew of Oscar, will face Ali Gonzalez (6-3, 1 KO) in a six-round bout.
And we may also be seeing the return of Taishan Dong (1-0, 1 KO), the 7-foot tall Chinese heavyweight. Dong, 26, beat Alex Rozman in a farcical pro debut on July 18. Tonight, he'll face Tommy Washington Jr (3-6, 2 KO), which probably won't be any better, but he's an intriguing prospect entirely because of his size.
