Tonight at 10 pm EST on HBO, Terence Crawford (24-0, 16 KO) will defend the WBO lightweight title against Ray Beltran (29-6-1, 17 KO) in the main event from Omaha, Nebraska, with Evgeny Gradovich (19-0, 9 KO) taking on Jayson Velez (22-0, 16 KO) in an IBF featherweight title bout co-feature.
The live fights will be preceded by a replay of last week's Pacquiao vs Algieri fight from Macau.
Crawford is a major favorite with the bookies tonight, listed at a very wide -1200 by Bovada. For comparison, Pacquiao was a -750 favorite last weekend, and that fight was a total mismatch. Beltran figures to be a better underdog than Algieri, though, because he's arguably a better fighter, period, and Crawford is not exactly Pacquiao. (OR IS HE???)
The Gradovich-Velez co-feature is interesting in that both still have something to prove as far as being real world class fighters. Gradovich is looking to make the fourth successful defense of his IBF featherweight title, while Velez is hoping to be the first Puerto Rican prospect to really break through at this level in a while.
