Saturday, December 6

kfc fight for life 2014

Sky Arena PPV (NZ), 2:00 am EST, Joseph Parker vs Irineu Beato Costa Jr, Jeff Horn vs Robson Assis. There's also some rugby guys and some celebrity nonsense or whatever. I don't know.

Sky Sports 2 (UK), 3:00 pm EST, Prizefighter: Lightweights, Martin Ward vs Maxi Hughes. Ward-Hughes is a super featherweight 10-rounder. The Prizefighter entrants are Stephen Foster, John Carroll, Michael Devine, Floyd Moore, Lee Martin, Cassius Connor, Gary Buckland, and Craig Whyatt.

ARD (DEU), 3:00 pm EST, Juergen Braehmer vs Pawel Glazewski. This was supposed to have Yoan Pablo Hernandez vs Ola Afolabi, but Hernandez pulled out with an elbow injury. Tyron Zeuge, David Price, Jack Culcay, Denis Boytsov, and Stefan Haertel are all fighting on the show. We'll have afternoon coverage for this and the Prizefighter show.

PPV, 9:00 pm EST, Jean Pascal vs Roberto Bolonti. This was supposed to be a double main event with Lucian Bute facing Roberto Bolonti and Pascal facing Don George, but Bute dropped out, George was suspected of being about to drop out, and Pascal-Bolonti was made for the top of the card. Even the undercard has sort of petered out. Joel Diaz Jr might be the most interesting fighter on the rest of the bill. This is also going to be hard to order for a lot of people. My Comcast, for example, is not carrying this show live, since it would be going up against UFC 181. There will be a Sunday replay for $25, but really, this isn't worth, like, paying money for or anything.

HBO, 10:00 pm EST, David Lemieux vs Gabe Rosado, Thomas Dulorme vs Hank Lundy, James de la Rosa vs Hugo Centeno Jr. This is a triple-header that promises some action in Brooklyn. It's not the highest-profile card, but Lemieux is a devastating puncher, Rosado's usually in good fights, and the rest is solid. Dulorme-Lundy is a make-or-break 140 pound fight for both guys. De La Rosa is getting a shot on HBO after his big win over Alfredo Angulo, and Centeno is a solid prospect. BLH will have live coverage.

UniMas, 11:00 pm EST, Brian Viloria vs Armando Vazquez, Jose Felix Jr vs Luis Solis, Saul Rodriguez vs Juan Ramon Solis, Anton Novikov vs Santos Benvaides, Esquiva Falcao vs TBA.

Azteca (MEX), 11:30 pm EST, Juan Francisco Estrada vs Joebert Alvarez, Jackie Nava vs Sayda Mosquera.
