Muhammad Ali has been hospitalized with a case of what is being called "mild" pneumonia, with ESPN reporting that "the prognosis is good," and that his stay in the hospital is expected to be short. Ali, now 72, has been subject of rumors regarding his health in recent years, and was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1984.
Here's a statement from Ali's family spokesman, via Dan Rafael of ESPN.com:
'Muhammad Ali, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, is being treated by his team of doctors and is in stable condition. He was admitted earlier this morning and because the pneumonia was caught early, his prognosis is good with a short hospital stay expected.'
