Rios - Alvarado III set for January 24

The rubber match of our sick and twisted fantasies will be realized as both all-action fighters, Brandon Rios and Mike Alvarado, will face off once again.

Man - these guys just can't catch a break. "Once more into the fray, into the last good fight I'll ever know, live and die on this day - live and die on this day." Anyone who ever saw "The Grey," a film about a pack a wolves hunting plane crash survivors will get that reference. And I don't think it could apply any better than in this case. These guys have just been in tough fight after tough fight since they met up for the first time a couple years back. So - once more into the fray (or the frying pan for that matter) for the both of them.

Top Rank Matchmaker, Carl Moretti made the announcement to RingTV, and said the fight will be at welterweight and televised on HBO. The fight will be held back in Alvarado's home state of Colorado, at the 1stBank Center. So at least subscribing fans will get their money's worth that night. Rios is 2-2 in his last four fights - losing to Alvarado in their first rematch, and getting spanked around by Manny Pacquiao. The two wins were, of course, his initial victory over Alavardo back in October 2013 and his DQ win over Diego Chaves this past August (however unfulfilling that result might have been). Alavardo, is 1-3 in his last four fights. Losing to Rios, then beating Rios, only to get pummeled by Ruslan Provodnikov and Juan Manuel Marquez.

So why not just have the bash brothers just finish each other off?! This will be as fan friendly, rock-em sock-em, as they come. Make your calendars.
