2012 Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua will put his KO streak on the line against the extremely durable Kevin "Kingpin" Johnson on January 31, 2015 at the O2 Arena in London, headlining a Sky Sports card.
Joshua has dominated everyone in his path thus far as a pro, and promoter Eddie Hearn has been trying to find someone who can last more than a couple rounds with him. Johnson, 35, is unlikely to pull an upset -- though he could, sure -- but he's never been stopped, and that's after being in the ring with the likes of Vitali Klitschko, Tyson Fury, and Dereck Chisora.
Johnson has lost three straight to Christian Hammer, Chisora, and Manuel Charr
The undercard is also coming together, and will feature the return of lightweight Kevin Mitchell (38-2, 28 KO), who faces Mexico's Daniel Estrada (32-3-1, 24 KO) in a 12-round bout.
Also featured on the bill:
- Tommy Martin (10-0, 3 KO) vs Ricky Boylan (12-1, 4 KO), junior welterweights, 10 rounds
- John Wayne Hibbert (14-2, 8 KO) vs Tyler Goodjohn (11-3, 4 KO), junior welterweights, 10 rounds
- John Ryder (19-1, 11 KO) returns in a 10 round middleweight fight
- Charlie Edwards makes his pro debut
