Today at 4:00 pm on Integrated Sports and GFL PPV in the United States and Fight Network in Canada, as well as at 2:00 pm EST on BoxNation in the United Kingdom, Dereck Chisora and Tyson Fury are back in action in stay-busy bouts that are intended to lead to a rematch this spring.
Chisora (19-4, 13 KO) will face American Kevin Johnson (29-4-1, 14 KO), a once-promising fighter whose career has flatlined after boring losses to Vitali Klitschko in 2009 and Tyson Fury in 2012. Johnson also lost his last fight against Christian Hammer in Germany last December.
Chisora, 30, has won four straight fights against mid-level opposition since dropping four of five fights from July 2011 through July 2012. He's the heavy favorite today, as is Tyson Fury (21-0, 15 KO), who faces Minnesota club fighter Joey Abell (29-7, 28 KO), a hard-punching southpaw with a big right hook, but a very limited fighter who has been stopped five times.
Also in action today: popular super middleweight prospect Frank Buglioni (11-0, 8 KO) faces Italian veteran Gaetano Nespro (21-9-1, 3 KO), and welterweight prospect Bradley Skeete (14-0, 4 KO) takes on France's Christopher Sebire (22-7, 8 KO).
Prelim fights: Hughie Fury (12-0, 7 KO) vs Matthew Greer (16-11, 13 KO), heavyweights, 6 rounds; Billy Morgan (9-0, 0 KO) vs Michael Grant (13-4-1, 1 KO), junior welterweights, 6 rounds; Thomas Stalker (5-0, 2 KO) vs Dan Carr (3-51-2, 2 KO), junior welterweights, 6 rounds; Lewis Pettitt (12-1, 4 KO) vs Elemir Rafael (27-77-2, 5 KO), super bantamweights, 6 rounds; Steve Collins Jr (3-0, 0 KO) vs Tommy Gifford (1-2, 1 KO), cruiserweights, 4 rounds; Georgie Kean (2-0, 1 KO) vs Dee Mitchell (9-51-1, 2 KO), welterweights, 4 rounds.
