Beltran vs Gonzalez, Friday Night Fights, more: Boxing TV schedule for Feb. 7-8, 2014

It's a weekend light on boxing action, but Friday Night Fights is back, and there are some international cards on Saturday.

Jeff Bottari
Scott Christ is the managing editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2006.

Friday, February 7

ESPN2 / WatchESPN.com, 9:00 pm EST, Kamil Laszczyk vs Daniel Diaz, Roberto Garcia vs Norberto Gonzalez. This is another FNF from the UIC Pavilion in Chicago with a Polish dude in the main event, and these are some of the best FNFs for my money. Always a good, rowdy, supportive crowd, generally the promoter have made good action fights. Chicago is a market that could be serious in boxing but the Illinois taxes scare away most major fighters, which sucks. Chicago is a great sports city and loves its fights. All fights. All type of fights. BLH will have live coverage.

GFL.tv ($14.99), 7:30 pm EST, Milton Santiago vs. Moses Molina, Antonio Dubose vs. Michael Hadood, Angel Concepcion vs. Brian Donahue, Derrick Webster vs. Julio Garcia, Sultan Staton vs. Mike Eroza, Anthony Flores vs. Ramesis Gil, Emmanuel Folly vs. Jose Luis Hernandez, Frank Trader vs. Israel Suarez. Ryan Bivins will tweet live from the Arena.

Saturday, February 8

TyC Sports (ARG), 10:00 pm EST, Jonathan Barros vs Cid Bispo.

Televisa (MEX), 11:00 pm EST, Adrian Hernandez vs Janiel Rivera, Irma Garcia vs Nazly Maldonado, Julio Ceja vs Jesus Acosta, Luis Ceja vs Saul Juarez. Welcome to Sabados de Corona, the "Night of Mismatches" edition, or "Noche de partidos malos," or something like that. The Spanish translation is difficult...

Azteca 7 (MEX), 11:30 pm EST, Miguel Beltran Jr vs Jose "Chelo" Gonzalez, Raul Hirales vs Jonathan Oquendo, Rafael Guzman vs Alberto Beltran. This is a nice card, good main event that should be competitive. "Chelo" is the guy who gave Ricky Burns hell last year in Scotland, and Beltran is a quality fringe contender.
