Shannon Briggs harasses Wladimir Klitschko during training

43-year-old former heavyweight titleholder Shannon Briggs says he's back, and used Wladimir Klitschko's gym time to announce it to the world.

Scott Christ is the managing editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2006.

Shannon Briggs is back, or at least that's what he says in the video below, where he challenges Wladimir Klitschko to a fight there and then in the gym, being held back by a few folks and led out of the gym while yelling about Klitschko only fighting bums.

Via Fight News:

Briggs (51-6-1, 45 KO) hasn't fought since he was manhandled by Vitali Klitschko in 2010, and hasn't scored a notable victory since 2006, when he scored a TKO-12 at 2:59 of the final round against Siarhei Liakhovich to win the WBO title in a fight Liakhovich would have won on the cards.

For whatever it's worth, Briggs, 43, does look in great shape, from what can be seen in the video. That said, for all the posturing and bluster Briggs throws Wladimir's way, it's Klitschko who steals the show in the clip, calmly responding to Briggs' challenge to step outside.

"I'm coming," Wladimir says, eliciting some laughs. "Give me 45 minutes."

Briggs had this to say on Instagram:

They saying I went Mr.T on #wladimirklitchsko but I say that's nothing. I sat back for 3 plus years and watched all these so called young guns and bums play I'm the next champ. Truth is they the next chump that Wladimir loves to fight and punish. One hit they go nite nite forget to thank Jesus ( only when they win do they give thanks ) then they say I'll be back. No you won't. I did what I did today because it's personal and because heavyweight boxing sucks thanks to Wladimir himself and his wack ass brother with they boring ass flights. Yeah Vitali he won a fight against me. With one arm. And he couldn't stop nor drop me. One arm for twelve and that was light. Follow me follow Wlady. #wladimirklitchskoscaredofme

Klitschko (61-3, 51 KO) is currently preparing for an April 26 defense of his Ring Magazine, WBA, WBO, and IBF titles, against Alex Leapai.
