Vanes Martirosyan is back in the ring tonight on ESPN Friday Night Fights, as he faces Mario Lozano in the 10-round junior middleweight main event from Morongo Casino in Cabazon, California.
Martirosyan (33-1-1, 21 KO) is coming off of his first pro loss to Demetrius Andrade last November, in what turned out to be his final fight under the Top Rank banner. Now with Goossen Tutor, Martirosyan, 27, will look to work his way back toward a title shot.
Lozano (28-4, 22 KO) shouldn't be a serious test for Vanes, as the 26-year-old Mexican is coming off of a wide decision loss to Charles Hatley in Texas. BoxRec has him ranked No. 113 in the world at welterweight, and in just his last three fights, he's weighed in at 146¾ ,136, and 153¾, so he's not exactly settled in at any weight.
In the co-feature, Anthony Peterson (32-1, 21 KO) will face Marcos Jimenez (20-4, 13 KO) in a 10-round lightweight bout. Peterson recently signed with Al Haymon, so this may be the last you see of him on FNF.
