Tonight at 9:00 pm EST on ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, and streaming on WatchESPN.com, ESPN Friday Night Fights is back with a "normal" show this week after two weeks of Boxcino tournament bouts.
It's a lightweight (kind of) main event tonight. Marvin Quintero (25-4, 21 KO) had some visa issues and the weigh-in was delayed until this morning, and he came in at 142.5 for his fight with Rustam Nugaev (26-6-1, 16 KO), who weighed in at 143. Nugaev has won five straight bouts since a loss to Alisher Rahimov in 2011, including an upset of then-unbeaten prospect Jonathan Maicelo in April 2013. Quintero hasn't fought since an October 2012 loss to Miguel Vazquez, which aired on HBO.
In tonight's co-feature, 22-year-old super bantamweight prospect Roman Morales (17-0, 9 KO) will face Khabir Suleymanov (16-3, 6 KO) in an eight-round bout.
SPOILER ALERT!!!
Teddy will be doing the Fight Plan tonight with poker pro Phil Ivey. I can't wait for the metaphors, and then BANG!
