Mayweather vs Maidana: Floyd Mayweather already under 150 pounds for May 3 fight

Floyd Mayweather is just under 150 pounds already for his May 3 fight with Marcos Maidana.

Floyd Mayweather is nearly at weight already for his May 3 fight against Marcos Maidana for the WBC welterweight and WBA welterweight belts, the former held by Mayweather and the source of Mayweather's preliminary weight check-in.

Mayweather (45-0, 26 KO) is at 149.8 pounds, so he has just under three more pounds to cut by May 2. Floyd's never had any trouble making the welterweight limit, so there is surely no concern about that, and there wasn't before this, but hey, here's photographic evidence!

Maidana (35-3, 31 KO) has been pretty quiet in the build-up to the fight, but that should change once Showtime's "All Access" premieres on April 19, which ought to allow Maidana to do the usual thing where people become short-term major supporters of Mayweather's upcoming opponent, because they come off all Humble and Determined and Unimpressed by Floyd's Antics. Good stuff.
