Ray Beltran looks like he'll get a second world title shot this summer, as he's ostensibly lined up for a shot at WBO titleholder Terence Crawford following a solid win tonight over game short notice opponent Arash Usmanee. Scores were . BLH had it 116-112 for Beltran.
Usmanee (20-2-1, 10 KO) was busy and stayed in the fight throughout, but he was overpowered by the bigger, stronger Beltran (29-6-1, 17 KO), who had the harder punches and outlanded Usmanee, too. It was a fairly routine performance for Beltran, who took over the fight once he got into his pressure mode, walking Usmanee down relentlessly and marching through anything that came his way.
It should be noted, too, that Usmanee came up from 130 pounds, and again, on short notice, as Rocky Martinez was originally supposed to be Beltran's foe this evening.
We're now down to the main event: Manny Pacquiao vs Timothy Bradley II, and you can join us live.
