Daniel Jacobs will take Paulie Malignaggi's place on commentary this Saturday night, with Malignaggi in action on Showtime.

With Paulie Malignaggi facing Shawn Porter for the IBF welterweight title this Saturday night on Showtime Championship Boxing, Daniel Jacobs will take his seat alongside Mauro Ranallo and Al Bernstein as expert analyst for the broadcast.

"It's an honor to have this opportunity on such a historic boxing event," Jacobs said. "I'm excited to be the guy on the outside that will provide the viewers with the type of insight only a fighter can provide. I also look forward to the opportunity to see the sport in a different perspective and gain more of an appreciation for the craft.

"I know I'll be in good hands alongside Al Bernstein, Mauro Ranallo and the rest of the Showtime crew giving the viewers and fans a great night of boxing."

Jacobs, 27, last fought on March 15, running his record to 27-1 (24 KO) with a first-round TKO win over Milton Nunez. He'll likely have an eye fixed on this Saturday's WBO middleweight title fight between Peter Quillin and Lukas Konecny, as Jacobs has been mentioned as a possible Quillin foe for later this year.
