Tonight at 9:00 pm EDT on ESPN2 from the Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage, Calif., Josesito Lopez faces Aron Martinez in a 10-round welterweight main event. In the co-feature, Thomas Williams Jr faces Enrique Ornelas in a 10-round light heavyweight fight.
Lopez (31-6, 18 KO) made big waves in 2012 with a jaw-breaking upset of Victor Ortiz, and followed that with a pair of brutal losses to Canelo Alvarez and Marcos Maidana. Martinez (19-2-1, 4 KO) hasn't fought in a year, but he's a solid gatekeeper sort who can handle himself, and if Lopez has an off night, he could pull the upset here. He's certainly a more live dog than Arnaoutis was, as Arnaoutis was just a tune-up fight for Lopez to get back into the groove after some really demanding fights.
Williams (16-0, 11 KO) has been thrashing his opposition so far. Ornelas (34-8, 22 KO) is a veteran fighter who has been in with notable guys like Bernard Hopkins, Robert Stieglitz, and Beibut Shumenov.
