Lebedev vs. Jones II: Fight cancelled as Jones fails drug test again

The rematch between Denis Lebedev and Guillermo Jones, scheduled for tomorrow, has been cancelled.

Many people are fond of saying that history repeats itself and, well, everyone involved with boxers Denis Lebedev and Guillermo Jones can't disagree with that statement at the moment.

Today it was announced that the rematch between Lebedev and Jones for the WBA cruiserweight title, which was to take place tomorrow in Russia, has been completely called of due to Jones failing a drug test once again. This is the second time Jones has failed a drug test for a bout with Lebedev as he also failed one after their first fight. The fighter's camps were unable to come to any type of agreement in regards to allowing the fight to continue on.

Gilberto Mendoza, president of the World Boxing Association (WBA), communicated on his Twitter account that Jones had "tested positive in sample "A" after receiving the anti doping results from a neutral lab". Panamanian journalist Juan Carlos Tapia, the gentleman who broke the story on Twitter, says that Jones tested positive for Furosemide, the same diuretic Jones tested positive for last May.
