Lucas Matthysse and John Molina meet up after brutal Fight of the Year candidate

Lucas Matthysse gives his thoughts on his fight with John Molina, who then joins Matthysse as the fighters exchange pleasantries not long after beating the hell out of one another.

Last night at the StubHub Center in Carson, California, Lucas Matthysse and John Molina went to war in a blood-drenched brawl that was halted in the 11th round, with Matthysse picking up a well-earned stoppage victory over his hungry, gritty opponent. Both men hit the canvas two times (one questionable call on both sides), and the fight is the early leader for Fight of the Year in 2014.

Lucas Matthysse on John Molina:

"He's an excellent fighter, and in truth we put on a great fight. We both came with hunger and a feeling of glory for the win. We both left it all in the ring. He's a tremendous fighter, and I appreciate that we brought everything and left everything in the ring."

John Molina on Lucas Matthysse:

"I just want to say thank you to Lucas. I think we gave the fans a hell of a fight. I think it was the fight of the night. I believe everyone enjoyed it. I wanted to show that I belong. He's one of the best, and I showed that I do belong."
