Are you pay-per-viewed out yet? Coming in June will be the fourth PPV over a four month span that started in March when Sergio Martinez defends his middleweight crown on June 7 at Madison Square Garden against Puerto Rican star Miguel Cotto. Naturally, HBO is going to be ratcheting up the hype for the show, and that begins on May 17 with the airing of their documentary 2 Days according to RingTV.com.
2 Days will air immediately after the May 17 card featuring Juan Manuel Marquez taking on Mike Alvarado at 12:30 am ET/PT. The fight between Marquez and Alvarado has great significance due to Bob Arum stating that the winner will earn the right to take on Manny Pacquiao this fall, and HBO is likely banking on a healthy audience to help promote Cotto/Martinez.
2 Days, as the title implies, will take us through a two-day period in the life of Sergio Martinez just before he took on Martin Murray last April."Maravilla" had to get off the deck to decision Murray in a tight fight that was contested in front of nearly 50,000 fans in Argentina. Despite that bout occurring one year ago, it's the last time Martinez has been in the ring as he has suffered knee injuries in his previous two fights.
Are you looking forward to buying Cotto - Martinez, or are you on the brink of breaking down from all of the pomp and hype shows?
