Today at 6:00 pm EDT from Los Angeles, BLH will have a live stream of the Marquez vs Alvarado weigh-in ahead of tomorrow night's HBO World Championship Boxing fight, as well as immediate results of the weigh-in event posted just after it's over.
Juan Manuel Marquez (55-7-1, 40 KO) is looking to rebound from a loss in this fight, as is Mike Alvarado (34-2, 23 KO), as they meet in what figures to be an all-action contest, with the winner most likely facing Manny Pacquiao later this year on HBO pay-per-view.
Marquez, 40, last fought in October 2013, losing a competitive decision to then-WBO welterweight titleholder Timothy Bradley. The 33-year-old Alvarado also fought that month, losing his WBO junior welterweight title in a slugfest that turned into a beatdown against Ruslan Provodnikov.
Tomorrow night's bout has a catchweight limit of 143 pounds, with Alvarado leaving the 140-pound division behind, and Marquez imposing a lower limit than the welterweight standard 147, mostly because he can, so why not, basically.
