ESPN2, 9:00 pm EDT, Boxcino Finals: Brandon Adams vs Willie Monroe Jr, Petr Petrov vs Fernando Carcamo. Both will be 10-round bouts as we wrap up the very fun and entertaining Boxcino tournaments, with hopefully more of this format headed to FNF in the future. BLH will have live coverage.
Saturday, May 24
SHO Extreme / PPV (CAN) / BoxNation (UK), 7:00 pm EDT, Eleider Alvarez vs Alexander Johnson, Julian Williams vs Michael Medina. Standard SHO Extreme prelim matchups, but not bad, as Alvarez and Williams are both legit prospects worth tuning in to see. BLH will have live coverage.
SHO / PPV (CAN) / BoxNation (UK), 9:00 pm EDT, Adonis Stevenson vs Andrzej Fonfara, David Lemieux vs Fernando Guerrero, Jermell Charlo vs Charlie Ota. Stevenson is the heavy favorite here, and with a win is expected to enter into negotiations to face Bernard Hopkins later this year, which would unify the Ring Magazine, WBC, WBA, and IBF titles, with only Sergey Kovalev's WBO belt not part of that mix. Lemieux hits really hard and Guerrero doesn't take a good punch, so that fight seems pretty predictable. Maybe the best matchup here is Charlo-Ota. BLH will have live coverage.
Televisa (MEX), 11:00 pm EDT, Jhonny Gonzalez vs Clive Atwell. The WBC has actually sanctioned this as a world title fight. They said, "Yeah, that's good. Clive Atwell is 12-0-1 (7 KO) with his best win coming against Rafael Hernandez, an also-ran.
Azteca (MEX), 11:30 pm EDT, Jackie Nava vs Alys Sanchez, David Sanchez vs Breilor Teran, Edgar Sosa vs Omar Salado.
