Floyd Mayweather and Marcos Maidana are almost certainly going to fight tomorrow night, but it's less likely than it was a few hours ago, as the fight is reportedly in jeopardy due to a disagreement about the gloves Maidana wants to use.
As FightHype reports it, Maidana's gloves lacked padding, in the feeling of Team Mayweather, which was followed by Leonard Ellerbe (Mayweather Promotions), Robert Garcia (Maidana's trainer), and Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer arguing about the gloves for a few hours, followed by the Nevada commission ruling that the specific gloves were not allowed to be used, but that the Everlast brand and style would be acceptable.
Mayweather's team -- specifically, Ellerbe -- then said that the fight would be called off. Maidana's team then reportedly packed up and left.
So, you know, we'll see. There's about a 0.05% chance that this fight actually gets called off, because it would be everyone wasting a ton of money and losing out on even more money. It's a thing that's happening, but you could go to bed right now and when you wake up, the fight will still be on.
We will have any updates, of course, but you can calm your nerves, is all I'm saying.
EDIT: Here's a bit more from Yahoo! Sports' Kevin Iole:
Maidana is going to wear Everlast gloves. Everlast makes two different types of gloves. Maidana wants to wear the pair filled with horsehair

The padding in that glove can be moved TMT is arguing to make a punching surface that is more hand and less glove. Both gloves are approved

by the NAC so the commission basically told the camps to resolve. Reps for both sides are meeting to discuss now.
