Mayweather (45-0, 26 KO) is the major favorite tonight against Maidana (35-3, 31 KO), with the Argentine slugger figuring to have but a puncher's chance. Still, that's better than no chance at all, and every Mayweather fight instantly qualifies as an event at this point, in part because an upset seems unthinkable, and would shake the boxing world to its core.
In the main undercard bout, Amir Khan (28-3, 19 KO) faces Luis Collazo (35-5, 18 KO) in a 12-round welterweight bout. The fight is the 27-year-old Khan's first fight at the welterweight limit, and a win could lead to a fight later this year or next year against Mayweather. Collazo, too, is fighting for a potential chance to face Mayweather, as a win would be his second high-profile victory in a row following a January win over Victor Ortiz.
Also in action will be Adrien Broner (27-1, 22 KO), who returns in what is expected to be a romp over Carlos Molina (17-1-1, 7 KO) at 140 pounds. The fight is set for 10 rounds, as is the super middleweight bout between J'Leon Love (17-0, 10 KO) and Marco Antonio Periban (20-1-1, 13 KO).
